Refugees Into Jobs is a multilingual one stop referral and information point set up by the Single Regeneration Budget to regenerate the area by empowering refugees through training and employment. We offer a full careers information, advice and guidance service with the central focus of assisting individuals into employment and an assessment of skills and experience, matching facility to UK employment market.


Program & Services

Our staff have a wide range of professional qualifications and can give you information on courses available as well as advice and guidance on learning and work to help you build a successful new life in this country. We are currently working on a project to assist refugee engineers into employment. If you are a refugee engineer looking for an opportunity to find work in the construction industry we may be able to help you with:-
- work placements
- short term training courses
- obtaining a construction sills certificate scheme card (CSCS)
- financial assistance in acquiring an international qualification comparability statement.

This pilot scheme for refugee teachers aims to improve the employability of refugee teachers into British schools by developing their knowledge of the education system in England and Wales through practical classroom experience and therory-led taught sessions. It is aimed at teachers with qualifications comparable to UK standards but no experience of teaching in the UK. The scheme will run full time from October to mid July 2005 where it is hoped that upon completion trainees will have gained enough experience and confidence to apply for teaching posts. The course will comprise of work placements in the classroom together with English language support and taught theory sessions with an education consultant. The programme will be demanding, structured to assist the career progression of only determined and talented secondary school teachers with a strong desire to return to teaching. A training allowance of up to £4,000 will be available for each trainee. Closing date is 30 September 2004
